For this month’s edition of the Spotlight Series, we’ve spoken to our Technical Manager, Stuart, to hear all about his first few months in this brand new in-house role for us. Read on to find out all about him…

What led you to OPEN?

My previous role at Concept Signs involved me installing and maintaining much of the OPEN digital portfolio over my career, it therefore made perfect sense to transition across to OPEN when the opportunity arose. Having worked closely alongside various members of the OPEN team for the past 4 years also made transitioning to the new role and new office much easier.

What is your career highlight?

I have several career highlights, and installing OPEN’s largest displays sits at the top – New Barratt House, Boxpark & Hotel Football will always stand out due to the sheer size, locations, and the complexities behind the builds.

What does a normal day look like for you?

My role puts me in a nice position between development and operations. My day-to-day undertakings focus mainly on the operational side of the portfolio, working closely with the development team to discuss future projects, installations, advising on building strategy, and providing insight into the lifelong running of the displays.

What is your favourite part of the job?

Im in the fortunate position where I love my job. The satisfaction I get of watching a site go from a blank space to an exceptional DooH display is up there. However, I’d have to say that the OPEN team is the best part, every member of the team is fantastic to work alongside, and we all mix in to assist each other helping everyone’s day to run smoothly.

What are you most excited about in the next 12 months?

I’m really looking forward to watching OPEN grow – overseeing the development and installation of new projects will be a great challenge and an exciting opportunity!

Guilty pleasure?

Lego, all day long. Really big fan of cooking as well, just the washing up that follows I’m not a big fan of.
